Jasneath Education
Making a transformative difference to the lives of gifted children and adults
An introduction to many of the key questions and answers that people search for when they are first introduced to the construct of giftedness, including identification, what it means for education, friendships, the future, and available support.
As a result of asynchronous development, the social and emotional needs of gifted people may need some special consideration, and once at peace with ‘giftedness’, what role in the world might our gifted people play?
We examine differences between enrichment and acceleration, hidden gifted, complexities for students with ASD, Asperger’s Syndrome, the importance of cultural understanding; and strategies to support your gifted person –at home, school, and at work.
We examine the history of IQ testing, whether intelligence is fixed, the Flynn Effect, and how understanding elements of neuroscience may help you support a gifted person at school, home, or work.
Gifted people may experience heightened sensitivities. We examine these including, how they relate to the Overexcitabilities, how these in turn fit with Dąbrowski’s Theory of Positive Disintegration; and what this might mean for your gifted person.
Your course will become available immediately after you register.
At Jasneath Education we design our courses to be as flexible as possible. The first two courses in the series are available for 165 days, with each subsequent course, which have more specialised topics, available for 110 days. These timeframes should provide plenty of time to complete the course material, and to allow you to engage (should you wish) with the Jasneath Education Community, or jump onto our Facebook page.
The Jasneath Education Community is available to everyone while they're enrolled in a Jasneath Education course. The Facebook page is a permanent way of maintaining contact with both Dr Amanda and the Jasneath Education community.
Please don't hesitate to email Dr Amanda at [email protected] if you have either questions about a course or a more specific gifted education question. To pose questions for the broader Jasneath Education network, please connect with either the Jasneath Education Community or the Facebook page.
